Can you help me identify this?

Hello, My name is Mike Kennedy and recently a friend of mine asked me to research a silver cigarette case that was left for him when his father died. I want to find out any information I can about this case.

The case is silver (probably sterling) it has a map of Schwaben on the outside with some towns identified by name (Augsburg, Mindenheim, Kaufbeuren, and more)and notations of 95/14 in the north and 96/14 in the south of the map.

The inside has numerous inscriptions. The formost says JHREM STANDARTENFUHRER 95/96! 1938! and there are numerous signatures also inscribed. I know that Standartenfuhrer is a high ranking field grade officer of the SS and I assume this was given to one by his men who's signatures are inscribed in the case. I have pictures of the outside and inside of the case and can forward these if you want.

Can you provide any information on how I might learn more about this item? Any help you can privide will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Michael Kennedy

I would think this is for an SA Standartenfuhrerm not SS. The designations are units. I don't have my list handy, but they are for SA Standarte 14.
