Hi chaps

There are various differences in the the stampings that appears on the backs of FM pins, some of which are not peculiar to one Alpha series code.

There are a couple of differences that are specific to one alpha code and slight differences on the front that seem to be specific to another.

For example, here are two examples of the stamping of word 'Gesch' and both are taken from 'C' series pins. The top image looks like a 'Z' and the other an 'S'.

I have never seen such "S" letters as posted on the first pin...very interesting.
