Large metal thread cloth SS eagle

Has anyone ever seen anything like this eagle? It is woven in metallic and black thread. The cloth square onto which it is woven is about 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall. This specimen has some type of oil staining to it and therefore has parts that glow where the staining is present and parts that don't where it is absent. The whole thing probably didn't glow originally. The eagle is asymmetrical with the wing on the right side showing more shading close to the body than the wing on the left. Any ideas on originality and if original, what use it might have had?

    Richard,

The eagle you posted is a copy of the eagle used on the armband of the Reichsautozeug.

Below is an original. Note the length of the wings and better detail.

Thanks very much Bob. I never even thought an eagle like this design existed. I can see several differences including the head on mine appears more "cartoonish" than the one you posted. Do you have a shot of the rear of yours? I guess this one goes back to Detlev from whom I originally purchased it. By the way, what was the Reichsautozeug?
