I'm not so sure about the price you posted. On eBay, I've seen nice pre 1945 Italian camo zelts (like this one) sell for nearly $200. The biggest buyers are reenactors to cut it up to make uniforms out of. If it has bakelite buttons on it they alone sell for one or two dollars per button. This one appears to have no buttons but it is the model without the head hole so there is more usable material. It's a pretty desireable item in many circles.
I agree with Sepp. Pre 1945 Italian Zelts will cost around $200.00 in the US. Post 1945 with sew in gromets and bakelite buttons go for 100.00 - 150.00 and the post 45 with metal gromets and buttons go for 50.00. The ones with metal buttons usually have very bright colors and reenactors do not like them as much.
