Here are some ground dug and local found ES badges a local guy posted on another forum. These were the german volksdeutch in croatia and most transfered to the prinz eugen div.

Yes, that were the volksdeutch in croatia of the ES. These turned out to be some of the most brutal of the germans who invaded as they were half croatians but also killed croatians ( and other) too who were once their neighbors. This is depicted finely in the movie "duga raca noc."
I saw once a photo almbum from one man in the ES and it also included later Prinz eugen poliezi unifrom photos. The sad thing was that an idiot came and only bought the ES photo which made the rest of the album an unknown from that point as you could not see the real history of the man.
This particulair badge comes from one of the unlucky souls who ended up in the bleiburg march. I would say an item like this was discarded pretty quick in the former POW holding cage where it was aparently found (now just a back yard, orchard). I wont go into it any further how many many many feel about this march as it is a touchy subject to this day in croatia.
