        You may not care

You, may not care but I agree with you. Not perfectly round? Seriously, you did not say that.

          1. I have not been an active collector since 1985, and I had all of these for several years before I quit active collecting. The most recent one I obtained was #3, which I have had for about 32 years most probably....maybe a few more. #1 is the one I have had the longest.....possibly as much as 50 years and #2 maybe as long as 40 years. So the theory of something out of Pakistan in the last few, or even several, years is not a possibility.
          2. I didn't get any of these from dealers or collectors, and likely paid nothing for #2 and #3. I know I paid nothing for #1 and remember the vet who gave it to me. I was glad to get it even with the moth damage.
          3. I don't really remember where #2 or #3 came from......but I would guess vets or their families as well. I never bought anything SS from dealers or collectors. Too many repros were out there even that many years ago.
          4. I am not in the debate because I have no doubts that they are real, and they are not for sale.....so I have no concern about potential buyers.

          Have fun,
          Ron
Well, if you don't remember where they came from, and you didn't pay anything for them, then they truely must be genuine.

And since you've had them for decades, but never bought anything SS because "Too many repros were out there even that many years ago", then these couldn't be repro's.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time. In the next few months, I'll have some good bargains on SS armbands on the e-stand. As many as you need.

Meanwhile, if you really want to be reemed out, take a look at these "treasures" http://www.snyderstreasures.com/page...anarmbands.htm

At those prices, how could they be fake? Don't let the fact that the tags aren't even close to the correct RZM tax code bother you. He probably just trashed genuine SS armbands with fake tags because SS armbands are too underpriced.

Well "Fast Charlie" does ocassionally screw up and have some real stuff. The cool thing is if you know what your looking at you can get a real bargain. He had some legit cuff-titles awhile back that were well underpriced. You might want to steer clear of the "Dachau Meat Hook" and "Eva Braun's Panties" those items can be a little difficult to authenticate! Oh and please do not purchase the sterling silver Eva Braun tampon carrier with custom monogram. It appears in no photographs that I am aware of, or that I want to see.

              You can say that again.

              Oh, you already did.

So there I was touring Berchtesgaden many years ago. I was sipping a fine glass of German wine at an outdoor cafe when a strange old man approached me carrying a briefcase. Whispering, he asked me if I was one of "the brotherhood". I assumed he asked me this because I am a tall, blue-eyed, broad-shouldered, fine looking specimen of manhood.

"Not really", I said quietly. "But I am interested in the history of the Third Reich."

He said nervously, "Well that will have to do. Time has run out. I don't have much longer to live. As you know, the SS wanted Hitler to hide out in Berchtesgaden and continue the war from the mountains. We had a lot of new wool SS armbands made up so we would look our best. But, alas, twas not to be. I'm asking you to take this briefcase full of mint armbands back to the U.S. with you and distribute them to collectors so that the SS brotherhood will not be forgotten."

I said, "Well, sure, I guess. Do you happen to have any more of the SS FM chip clips? Those have really gone up in price since the photos of them in use on the Eastern front have surfaced."

"Umm, no. Just SS FM damascus letter openers and FM armbands -- made of canvas."

"Well, I already have a bunch of those", I stated proudly.

Since then, these armbands have been in storage. But, I feel it is now time to bring them out and sell them to hungry collectors. Here is a sample pic of one. They'll be going for the bargain price of $500 each. All proceeds received will go to the "Friends of the Allgemeine SS Foundation".

I really like no. 1, everything screams period piece on that..no.2, i would look at, but probably would not buy, no.3, it just doesn't 'talk' to me..

Those mid thirties armbands have a nice heavy, smooth feel too them, and that smell! if you look closely, you can see where the nap has worn on no.1, these armbands had the material brushed or 'polished' to get that smooth feel, a mark of a quality wool item..

A4 RZM permit number 275 was held by Albert F. Schmidt of Munchen who held an RZM permit from 1934 onward.
