    Thanks and Regards

I swear by Paul Hogle www.lakesidetrader.com, who is also a forum business supporter.

I have met a lot of terrific and honest people on the e-stand of these forums and would HIGHLY recommend becoming an Association member here, as you will save a lot of money by learning about fakes and learn the history of the items!

For a large purchase, look for a lifetime guarantee of authenticity and get feedback fro other forum members. Thousands of dollars are lost by collectors who rely on eBan or other auction sevices.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your hobby!

              hello,
              I am no expert,
but I am not sticking my neck out to mention
Bill Shea , who is considerered very good to many.
HOWEVER, all dealers can have a fake, somthing controversial, or they can even be fooled themselves.
No matter who you buy from you must be careful, and study books etc on the item.

As others have written before me: Please utilize the search thread on WAF for the best dealers. It helps to put in a dealers name--then see all that pops up or does not pop up.

The Collector Community Forum has lots of dealer recommendations (good and bad). For example... http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=55198 . And of course our own E-Stand is a great place to shop.

                Cheers!

This man is legendary in the hobby for the worst of reasons. As others have said, a quick search of his name will reveal everything you need to know.

                    Learn

Learn the material yourself and trust no Dealer. Given a buyer that they know has no knowledge and an open wallet they cannot resist stealing. If you screw up and make it to Hell you will recognize a lot of People you see at Militaria Shows.

I actually bought an original M42 SS helmet in superb condition from Snyder a while back. I knew I was taking a chance with him not knowing if anything would even be sent, but I was quite sure helmet was good. Considering the price I paid, I'm sure he had no clue it was an authentic SS helmet. When I eventually sold it, the buyer had one of the top SS helmet guys inspect it in-hand before finalizing the deal and verified for the buyer it was indeed authentic.

Point being, though very rare, you can get some of the best items from the worst, bottom-of-the-barrel dealers. You just have to know what you're looking at.
