    Opinions please

Not being an SS collector specifically, I would like opinions from the "experts" on this tunic: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=260916

    thanks in advance.

It may well be good but I always think The Guild's price is at least this time NEXT YEAR'S price, OK if you're not planning to shift it on in a hurry !

However, the sleeve eagle's the one with the feet detailed in, not common that one.

          .

Nice Tunic but it got me going!

Here we go with the same cycle that we are all fueling and benefiting from yet also feeling the brunt of. But, IMO, and merry xmas and all that this is whats gonna force many people out of this hobby.

          1. Item seen sold for $ 3000 on friday BY A DEALER ( some no name sno pack drills with mark ups as high as 35%)

          2. Same item listed for $ 3500 on Monday and even by a seller with no name and who isn't even a dealer which people are buying from because of a reputation and security blanket. So 6 months down the road the same item is ( alot higher) in price and rising? is that normal? I really think there are some people taking the piss.

Knock on result with other items: So what happens now if I put my SS M43 tunic which I was offered 5000 EUR for, on the estand, but for (alot more) and people write me all pissed off and saying they'll only pay 3000 EUR max for it yet i quote what a dealer sold it for? I am I bad now? The system seems like it has been legalized and endorsed by us the collectors so there should be no complaints. I'll go now and list my SS camo cap for 3500 EUR (+) !

Any thought or is this just me' if not please put me in my correct lane and tell me i'm dreaming and smoking drugs!

          Best,

          Pete

I guess 'the price' is the what someone's willing to pay .... otherwise it would sit there til market value caught up with it, be that this year or next. 99.99% of these items won't be coming down in price, ever, so like buying a house you have to jump on the merry-go-round sooner or later.

As I said before, with The Guild (and I mean them no direspect, they have a living to make same as you or I) I always think their prices are 12-15 months in advance of the market, but at least the vast majority of what they sell is original, which makes a change.

pete, your not on drugs mate i love a rant, im laughed at in the local pub for collecting this stuff, however, i generally know im being taken the wee out of with the prices they charge, i just accept it, if i fancy it i buy it. with me im a horder, so price really is imatrial. it will find its own level. for example, i got an allgameine nco cap for 1350 some 5 yrs ago, i knew id be a while before it would be worth the cash, but now, they are 2,500 plus,,, so what, i dont care. good luck to the guy if he can make a quick buck.and no , i cant afford it
