    Bekleidungswerk Celle ?

Just picked up an SS sidecap with this clothing depot stamp on the lining. Has anyone seen this before or heard of a Bekleidungswerk based in Celle?

I'm only interested in the stamp. The cap itself is a good one.

A fair number of years ago I came across an original Waffen-SS enlisted M1943 field cap --- totally good --- however, somebody along the way decided that it needed embellishing so they stenciled it inside with a bogus stamp! What are you going to do with these people?

            Celle?

Well remaining totally off topic and irrelevant as always, Celle is the home of Waldemar Riefkogel. Ben, do you have the book, Germany's Panzer Elite, with the close-ups of Riefkogels hat? If so what do you think?

But first we would have to catch one....

Regarding the word "Bekleidungswerk". Does it have to be associated with SS controlled clothing workshops?
Many modern day German clothing companies have "Bekleidungswerk" as part of their name. For example:
                http://goliath.ecnext.com/coms2/prod...5841-page.html
I'm just wondering because if you notice on the stamp, there's another word on the very top that I can't make out. Could this not be the name of the company?

I agree with Ben that the stamp is from a private firm...

                      Ben,
no, all it means is clothing works, i presume what is printed above Bekleidungswerk was the clothing works name, that is my slant on it anyway.
                      cheers
                      Gary
