I see nothing wrong with either the cap or the insignia. What do you see that I am missing?

The cap looks like a good one to me from these pics...............the eagle is a 100% original example.

Uhu, give us a pic of the sewing behind the flap and a pic of the nap, it looks good to me from these pic's. However I don't know that manufacturer, Sonny

Glad someone else chimed in thats knowledgable with ss insignia..If that eagle checks AOK I ll bet the caps OK..Havent seen that maker in a VT style cap but other ss for sure..thought it a little unusual the fold lines on a cap lying flat for 60 years werent more prevailent in the fotos though...Billbert

This is one of the most commonly encountered manufactures of this pattern cap in field grey, these caps are not seen that often anymore so I can understand the confusion. Talk about a text book cap "your looking at it "

Pity about the button BUT at least it has the eagle...which is way harder to locate than the button! Good find!

Eagle is original, cap is the correct color and cut. I am not familair with the maker, but these caps are very hard to find and I have only examined a few, in my lifetime.

Most often, a double row of stitching goes around the flap, but again, different makers did different things.

The eagle is normally sewn down with another piece of wool behind it. Does this cap have the additional piece of wool?

All in all, I like the cap.
