            Cuff title

            Hi Suhail,
I’m troubled by the lack of detailed serifs on the “D”, “F”, “h” in the title embroidery and the general lack of detail and application to the embroidery in general.

Here are two examples of Der Fuhrer cuff titles from Angolia’s Cloth Insignia of the SS, 2nd Edition, 1983. The first image is from the Waffen-SS section, page 299. The second image is from the SS-VT section, pages 148-149. Note the differences in embroidery between these two examples and the one under discussion.

The caption for the first image refers to an image for an officer's Der Fuhrer cuff title which I have edited out.

Also, here is a Deutschland cuff title in the same style. Notice also the fine detailing of the embroidery, especially the serifs. Ref. Ulric of England: A Collector’s Guide to SS and Political Cuff Bands. Page 28, 1998.

            Sincerely,

            Charles Betz

The RZM label doesn't belong on it (if it's even original) you'd expect a 'B' tag as shown in the book. An 'F' would imply a much greater involvement, i.e. hand embroidered rather than a machine embroidered piece like this.

                      Ian.
