A Question about the SS vt oversea

    Hello the SS Collectors,

I have a question about the SS VT Oversea cap model 34-37 with one metal frontal bouton and the Triangle eagle on the left

I would like to know the difference with a standard Wh oversea and that SS model oversea, it's just the grommets ? the form is the same right ?

    thanks
    D.R

Close but the ss overseas caps have special design called "the SS cut" the top seem is off center so one side, of the two halves is higher.

ok, anyhow it has a different cut so the top has a certain look different from the army caps.

            Gary,
first of all I have no idea, so I thought I'd ask, is it 100% sure that there were none with centre seem? Some period pictures suggest that they did exsist with that?

Can members that have such caps enlighten us here and tell us whether their caps have a centre seem or not?

            Thanks!

None of the ones I've ever owned have had a centre seam...

Maybe the ones in the fotos were converted from army stocks or leftover reichswehr overseas caps...Billbert

The area that appears to be a seam in photos is where the excess material has been folded up in the inside so as to give a neater and more close-fitting appearance.

Yes I could see them jauntying it up like to other caps with a safety pin or two...Billbert
