Wow!!! Not even close to what I expected to see when I opened this thread. Congratulations, Lorenz. I'm sure those set you back, and I don't want to know what you had to do to get the previous owner to let go of them

Very rare, and very, very desirable - Congrats

I love how we are actually afraid to show what the real thing looks like and don't want to show pictures on the forum. Well, presumably the real thing.

Has anyone here really thought about what that means for the hobby?

      Like, what's the point.

Yes , this trousers are really rare, but IMO they missing the fascinating of the Early Camo pattern of the SS...like this beautiful also if common early SS camo pattern! One piece in Leibermuster pattern IMO its a good complement for a good SS CAmo collection....but Cant Missing the Early Plan treee number 5!!

They are just beautiful. I agree with you, the early camo smocks are underrated. They were made in limited numbers and supplied to combat troops in the early days, we know the casualty numbers and surviving early smocks should be regarded as very scarce.
            Best regards, Tom

What I found amazing about the Leibermuster-Trouser is the relativ light colors..

I always thought, that surviving examples simply had been washed out..

I seems, they were made with this light background colors under the black spots.

I should start to practice in black magic too

Congratulations Lorenz! That is perhaps one of the rarest TR cloth items to locate - nevermind to purchase. You are correct, finding a matching tunic for purchase may be a lifetime quest - but you are closer to a complete set than most of us wil ever get. Fantastic find!

                            Cheers,

                            Asper

I have to tell that the previous owner, the forum member that sold the trousers to me was very honest and correct with the price and I have to thanks him for this great purchase.
