Myself and Lorenzo have examined these boards tonight in comparision to boards from an unquestionable source SS M43 tunic with earlier pattern rayon piped boards which were very tight and clean with a stiff firm feel. The construction on these here appears sloppy, especailly on the reverse side. I am wondering is this a late war thing? The tunic these boards shown here have been on is a late war german wool tunic which has a very rough texture to the wool. The piping appears to be cotton? Has anyone else seen such boards which are known originals with provenance or are accepted original boards like this before?

I have also never heard of cotton piping on SS shoulder boards. If these are good, then it will be news to me.

The sloppy construction im not worried about, but the piping material I cant seem to find any close ups of. Can anyone post M44 boards?

white cotton ribbed piping;the piping is fake so the rest is immaterial, i remember seeing straps like this in the 80's also some of the early fake straps marked ss-bw on the understap had this type of piping in them
