    Julleuchter and breadplate

    Hi all,

Just wanted to share my latest buy.
A Julleuchter and a wood carved breadplate with the following text

"Ehret die Scholle die Uns Ernahrt" which means something like
honour the ( scholle = fish ) that is arriving ?? ( this is not the real translation but what I could make of it.)

The Julleuchter itself is a very late production piece, maybe for Julfest 1944. Its colour looks like it is a piece from the production place Neuengamme near Hamburg - maybe even from smaller private clay firms who worked from the end of 1943 on by the order of the SS-Wirtschafts-Verwaltungs-Hauptamt (WVHA) under the command of Oswald Pohl.
I couldn't get a clear picture of the Allach stamp but you can see the mark..

The Leuchter comes directly from the family from a veteran the plate doesnt but it makes a nice set I think..

I like it and finally have a candle holder for Christmas.

    thanks
    Eric

I like your Julleuchter WW2. I see no issues with it.

      Hello,

Your bread plate translate closer to "We honor the loaf that nourishes us" I think.
