    AH asparagus server

The server on the left was recently acquired from a fellow WAF member. It's in the 'formal' pattern.

It's listed in Griffith's 'Collector's guide to liberated AH memorabilia' as an asparagus server. But they normally have a rippled base.

I'm guessing it's another type of server - perhaps for fish or meat.

Any thoughts? Has anyone come across this item before?

    Thanks

    Chris

Beautiful server, and a rather rare piece to boot! You don't see these larger pieces surface very often.

              Congrats

                  Are you serious?

Yes, it's a lovely item. Needs a good clean in theory but I like them 'as is.'. The crest in particular is quite unevenely worn - flatter towards the bottom right hand side from years of being thumbed. Beautiful.

Yes crepe fits much better. I never could figure out, after seeing them listed in the books, what they were doing eating all that asparagus.

That's a pretty sweet looking dinner knife, too

                            It is isn't it.

Of all the TR pieces I've collected, nothing even comes close to the sense of history these bits have when you hold them. It's quite extraordinary.
