Cuff Title

The lack of detailed serrifs on the "s", "h", "l", and "d" of the title is the first flag. Embroidery is not of the quality one would expect for this RZM type. The discoloration, the so called "green effect" of the reverse of the embroidery is also cause for alarm.

The attacment is from Angolia's Cloth Insignia of the SS, 2nd Edition, Page 293.

Here is another fake cuff title, this time as "Germania" which exhibits the same thick lettering and the green bobbin thread to the reverse:

I think almost as 'bad' as the 1st one. Maybe worse.

What are you guys doing? Making these and then seeing what we think of them? You should be able to compare these two and figure out the second is as bad, if not worse (Mike), than the first. I think it's time for Christmas break... I'm outta here! Merry Christmas everybody!

"On June 16th, 1940 the DEUTSCHLAND delivers fights near CHÂTILLON SUR Seine ( FRANCE ), 3 soldiers were wounded during this confrontation.

50 years later 3 tunics the collar which was cut, were found in a barn around by COMBEAUFONTAINE.

A not collector finds these 3 tunics in a sad state, and cuts sleeves !!!!. The sleeve presented here comes from the soldier FORSTENEICHNER (4 ème company), probably killed this day.

( the other soldier died in russian) Shoulder flaps with « D » embroidered had been substituted for the statutory model and without piping. It is interressant to note that one still has its etiquette. The eagle is an eagle VT.

on the 3 sleeves only 2 had the arm band, and only one the shoulders straps.

ANDREW MOLLO tells the discovery of these tunics in a very interesting article of the newspaper « La gazette des uniformes » about 2 years ago.

This sleeve is henceforth the property of Mr Denis BARBE wel known collector, and curator of the WW II museum 39-45 to AMBLETEUSE ( France ). This museum is probably the best in France as you can see on his website.
