Neat Volunteer Stamps & Vignettes
Robert,
These are indeed Quite Neat Volunteer Stamps & Vignettes!
From what I have read, the ones without a Denomination Number
are called Vignettes, and were added as 'Moral Support' on Letters.
(They could be purchased at SS Canteens, etc.)
The last one is a Postage Stamps with a Special Overprint.....
ALL, quite Special and Historical! Great Post ........... Txs, Dave/dblmed

Hi Robert beautiful Foreign Volunteer Legion labels all very rare. I collect them but not as much as I used to because my focus has expanded to Legion and Axis military awards. Normally the colors on these labels are more vivid and intense but because you increase the image the colors don’t look quite as vivid. Anyway the Schalburg label you have is the lower part of the vertical se-tenant set that was sold in blocks of ten. The upper label has the 50 denomination. The Flemish Waffen-SS labels were printed in 1944 but never issued. For more information on these labels please visit my web page on Legion stamps:

Hi Tom for one thing the paper used on the reproductions is not the same as the originals. There is a great article that was posted in the German Philatelic Society back in the early 80's relating to the Polar Bear issues where it indicates that the "LVF" inscription found on originals should touch the bottom edge of the axe while the reproductions show the inscription above the axe. Please e-mail me for more info. I don't want to give away too much info. to the forgers.

Another "Related" Stamp......NORGE
Hi Robert,
I LOVE to display the Stamps with the Daggers & Cloth, as it gives a very nice composition & historical perscpective.
Here is a 'Related' NORGE Frontkemper (Front Fighter) Stamp, which shows the Norwegian Frontkemper BADGE / AWARD.
I hear rumors that you are moving to LA, so maybe I'll get to see you and we can have a Heffeweissen together....
RENE, What can one say about your site.........other than SUPERB!
I refer to it often, as I enjoy learning more about the Foreign Legions...
