    Tribute to this forum

This forum and its members has contributed enormously to my knowledge and collection. This post is just a thank you to everybody who contributes and participates here. In the past two years, I have really achieved something that would not have been possible if I did not join here.

Down South in Africa we are really isolated when it comes to mainstream TR collecting, which make collecting and collecting real , original items nearly impossible, but for the forum and its members (and the e-stand).

I can honestly said I have met great people and decent human beings here and friends and contacts which hopefully should last a lifetime. Special thanx to my SS mentor, John Pic. Jacques

That is a wonderful display and I can say that without any bitterness from the events of the Rugby World Cup Final

The forum is a wonderful resource and touchstone for collectors, as well as being an excellent virtual library of information, that no published book can keep up with.

On saying that, it is only as good as its membership and only the members can make it bigger and better by adding to, and helping to transfer knowledge to others.

Once again, nice display, Jacques and thanks for posting the image

    Raymond

Besslein, this tunic originates from Italy and has been discussed before, it also visited the SOS for a hands on analysis by various knowledgeable guys. The consensus is that it is an original ss tunic restored with orginal insignia. The cufftitle is just pinned on for display purposes. Jacques. Ps Raymond, thanx for the kind words. SA rugby is back to normal, everything is in shambles again.

Thank you Jacques,Im flattered and happy to see someone enjoying thier hobby to the fullest. I am by no means an expert on anything except maybe Prime Rib. I dont profess to be some sort of leader in the field. I get alot of emails from people wanting my advice on tunics and eagle insignias, I try to help, but really its up to a collector to be happy with what they buy.
Again thank you Jacques for the kind words.Unfortunately forums like this draw the anonymous useless comments up like a boil on the butt. Hang in there and just enjoy it. Over and out.

                  Splendid Collection and Tasteful Display!

Jacques, WHAT a Splendid Collection and a Tasteful Display! Thanks for Sharing.

Yes, this Forum is a wonderful site for Networking and Sharing with other individuals of predominantly, a like mindset. But, like any 'family' there will be disagreements and squabbles at times. As long as they are kept on an Objective and Professional level - we all benefit from those discussions.

John Pic has indeed contributed much to this Hobby, and I enjoy & respect his opinion both on SS Items..... and Prime Rib. .............. Txs, Dave/dblmed
