    machine embroidered runic insignia

Hi...I have a question on this subject I hope someone can help with. Is there any evidence to suggest that machine embroidered runes were also worn by officers during the war, or were thse just worn by NCPOs and EMs? Thanks.

Great pic Gary, thks. While it shows an Officer wearing an enlisted man's machine embroidered runes, were there any instances where officer machine embroidered runes were worn as well ie. with the silver piping around the tab?

        Thks!
        Tony

          Hi Tony;

Unfortunately I don't have pix to show you (perhaps Gary or someone else could provide a photo) but the answer to your question is yes.
          Best regards,

          Tony

Maybe you guys can look at some of the excellent, exact copy fake WWII U.S. Airborne patches tonytay produces in Malaysia. He is very good at what he does! I think he goes by the same handle on eBay.

                    Regards,

Hey Gary....you're too kind, mate. I'm pretty pleased w/ my 101st repros but I still think I could've done much better were it not for my programmer getting sick of my never ending comments on "this isn't right", or "there's too many stitches there". It's a wonder he still talks to me!

Right now I'm working on some LW leather flight jackets, Leather Pz wraps and leather M-41 caps, all repros fashioned after originals. Hope to get these completed sometime soon.

                      Cheers and take care!

                        Hi Tony,

I, for one, am very impressed with your work. I really have a hard time distinguishing an original 101st A/B "white tongue" patch with your reproduction.

Sounds like your very busy with the Luftwaffe and Panzer wraps, jackets and caps. Hopefully, you'll be able to share scans of your new, excellent work with all here.

                        Regards,

                        Gary

It's just a hobby, Gary. A fake is only a fake if you try and pass it on as original - what I make I sell as repros and repros only, and I make sure people know that. After all, wouldn't we rather have our originals sitting in a glass showcase at home rather than on our persons on, say, a rainy day?

Merdock - it doesn't make all that much money, mate!
