...very nice "Walloon" Rex badge, it is rare but it also exists for the Flemish members of Rex. Only a handful of these are made. Instead of "Bravour, Honneur et fidelité" it has the divise "Moed ,Eer en Trouw".
Btw you Walloon Rex badge is it possible to see front and back, I believe it's a bronze one from what I can see. Curious how the back looks.
      thanks in advance.

...Thank you for posting these René. It is difficult for me to be certain from these photo's but the Walloon Rex badges with pins were privat purchased. They came from a Brussels company called De Greef and are NEVER with a number. The copys made years ago DO have numbers. Is it possible to provide good scans from both, back and front.
The ceremonial badgeges need to have na serial number but they came with hooks not pins.

A little confused Pieter, "The ceremonial badgeges need to have na serial number but they came with hooks not pins.". The bronze badge you show with hooks also has a number?

...that is a picture I found on the internet. It's a ceremonial type with hooks (no pin) and a number.

a important question.. do there exist copies of these badges..
and if yes.. are the copies with pin with or without number or with hooks..

I never saw the flemish rex badge in copy...

As I understand, the bronze was with the hooks, while the silver was with the pin. I do not know what the Gold was like. The award pieces were numbered. The award type is slightly thinner in the dementions, as the bronze pic shown.

...yes but only from the Walloon (French text).

                              ....absolutely not!

The REX badge was made for Walloon members( French text) and for Flemish members of REX (Flemish text)

Both badges exist in bronze , I never saw a silver(exept for the private purchased Frensh text type) or gold one.

The "presentation" versions have on the back for the Walloon type 3 hooks and for the Flemish type also 3 hooks. BOTH HAVE THE NUMBER STAMPED IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER.

The "privat purchased" ones (and I've only seen Frensh text ones) were made by a firm in Brussels called "DE GREEF". These types have "A PIN" and NO hooks and NO NUMBER. And are wartime duplicates!

The copys till today are from the French text type an WITH A PIN and NUMBERED.

                              Pieter

Hi Pieter thank you for the information. I have my items currently in a Bank vault and when I get time I will post them! I really like the attachments on my Wallonie badges and feel conferrable that they are original and have had them since the early 70’s. I have in my files several different Wallonie silver and bronze badges with different attachment configurations with either three or four style loop rings and with different triangle style pins and with German style pins some are reproductions and some aren’t and some have serial numbers and some don't. I wont post them because they are not mine but if your interested in seeing them please contact me?
I believe that many of these Wallonie badges were privately made not by only one company but different vendors located in Belgium.
