Anyone an idea what it could be then?Someone suggested me the leather strip seemed to be Dutch.
After some internet searching I found a picture with ressemblance. What do you think?

Those are Dutch Colonial troops. KNIL (Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger).
The canteen is a tropical pattern. It does resemble that in shape...but those are all officers with higher quality smooth wool
(or cotton) visor caps...Your cap I would determine as being a lower enlisted quality...

                    E.Reitz bell came home !

6 years after the demolition of the buildings of the former E.Reitz uniformwerke at Merksem near Antwerp, the bell that was hanging at the gate doors for over 62 years, finally made her way home !

To me it is an historic piece. Maybe for some others it's just a bell.
But this is THE BELL of the E.Reitz Uniformwerke and everytime it tolls
I hear the sound of history !

                    Enjoy !

                    Werner

Indeed, agree with Luc about the Bell - it has to be the center piece and aswell many history attached to it. Do you have a war time photograph showing the bell?

                        P.S.
Luc, how are you doing nowadays? And your website - collection?

                          Best regards

The last director of the former Belga factory took it home.
He stayed in touch with me and now decided to let it go. Although he had received better offers for it, he has a consciousness for history and decided that it had to end up among other parts coming from the factory.
And then there is only one address of course

                            PW

Now it is really time to give a lecture about the Reitz factory.
