Hello,

The insignia shown on post 1474 is a french one. It's the insignia of the 1st (French) Motorised Infantry Division and this version was worn in 1945-1946. The color of the border was different in each battalion... and it existed also without border.

Good info! Thanks. I never trusted this "Flemish Lion" shield as illustrated in Angolia's Waffen SS insignia book...
So it was made as an embroidered patch as also shown in Angolia's book and as a BeVo weave...
as per WAF member Galizien41's example (re-posted here)
The Flemish made description is inaccurate! French Army! Now I know the truth!

A surviving example of the few Standarts given to the Hitlerjugend Vlaanderen. They were presented on 20.04.1944 in Ghent by the Reichsjugendführer.

15 Gefolgschaftfahnen were given to the HJ Flanderen in Schoten (near Antwerp) Castle Horst on 30 april 1944.

Militär Verwaltungschef Präsident Reeder
Militär Verwaltungs Vizechef Fridrich
