    ss winter cap?

    Hi,
    heres another of my cap collection bought from a large dealer ,
    1st is the insignia original.

    inside ,i assume this is a non german cap

            Hi Merdock, the cap is a Soviet "Ushanka" winter cap. It looks as though it might be a WW2 issue one, as the "fish-fur" as it was called by the Russian soldiers, looks correct in both texture and colour. The lining is typical with the quilted style stitching. A shot of the cap from the side would be helpful, as the style changed post war. (One of these caps is top of my "wants" list.)
            As to the SS cap eagle, here I am no expert. But I think it looks good.. Check back with some old threads on SS cap eagles. Does it looks as if it has been there 60 years from the wear to the fur around it?

              Hi,
              Here adifferent view ,it certainly looks like it's always been there,
              The cap came from Chalsten Blades the german dealer and was suposed to be from a ss vet but only have his word for this.will post a full side view tomorrow.
