My initial opinion is NO... the tress is not SS for starters and I don't like the LAH embroidery. I don't have a photo of mine here in the office but can post it later this evening, if I remember to. There are some other characteristics I don't care for either.

To follow up: I'd say this was BAD all the way around. Embroidered cipher is definitely BAD. I'd pass on this one Joe. If you bought it, get your money back. I don't like the piping and materials.

                  Hi Joe,

It is great to see you again! The tresse is LW style. I would listen to Bob. He knows his SS stuff..

Thanks to all for input, In looking through the forum I can see the embroidered differences.
                      Thanks again and take care,

                        hello Bob,
yes, the tresse is LW, but often original SS straps used this type of tresse, expecially in the early type or also for Sturmann/rottenfuhrer winkel..
                        this only for my experience...

I agree with Lorenz,I have seen some original boards with lw tresse.

I think Angolia show in hes book some lw tresse in use

I know that 'other than SS tresse' was used, but I don't like the rest of the materials either - the waffenfarben, etc. Not discounting the strap simply on the single criteria. The slip on is totally bad, cloth and embroidered cipher. I'd pass on the whole thing myself.
