Kai Winklers Dachau veteran haul

It seems like Kai got a nice veteran score on the MAX with a lot items. Anyone heard of this haul or saw it live on the MAX? Its listed as come in one lot and untouched for 60 years and taken by a US veteran at Dachau.

He has listed all the items now and there are some nice cuff titles and other insignias. Included are a number odd looking collar tabs that I consider to be repros. Both shape of runes and construnction and backing is ringing my alarm bells. Too long overfolds and not original looking backings. Bad shape of the runes.

It would be darn interesting to get some provenance of this score and if these strange tabs in question are originals or post war adds by some one.

My take is that they are not originals. Goes against all of my knowledge whats original shape and construction. They are priced quite low for being originals. Would be nice to hear other thoughts since similar tabs have been brought up for discussion a few times.

I do not see the tabs mentioned by felix on the above pic. The tabs are however unlike any tabs I've ever seen in Dachau lots... So, most likely the SS rune tabs for sale much come from another source and were thrown in the Vet lot?

Wonder if his previous guarantees will hold true, some of the stuff he's got in the 'Closing Down Sale' are questionable at best .... take that cap from the other day for example.

No suprise really, there's a greetings card shop in Warrington that has had a closing down sale on for over 2 years now

Perhaps closing down to clear any debts (taxes etc) I am sure he will open under a new name at some point.

Hi Felix I had the exact same thoughts about the rune-tabs. 300€ for a pair seems fair, but the construction seems odd. On first glance not a pair I would want in my collection.

I know I am supposed to look hard at all the websites and take my time sifting through the junk, but I am so tired of the crap offered on his site I cannot bring myself to look at the rest of it. The caps are just ridicoulous. The Guy does not care. Yes I saw him running around the MAX buying things for his "going out of business sale". He is quickly reducing himself to an internet fleamarket. No insult to fleamarkets intended !

It is a shame that dealers like this are the biggest source of minefields for collectors.

Something about that whole "vet pickup" thing troubles me..... the dealer who is closing out his business in less than three months finds a haul like that...... 60 years packed away. Hmmmmmm I think I will take a pass !!!!

I confronted him at the MAX and asked him straight out if he was "getting out of the business?" and he answered "yes". I then asked him why he was so diligently shopping at the MAX if he was getting out and received a very evasive answer. Anyway: So go figure!!
