      Hi Andi,

IMHO I do not see why this is a SS Julteller.

NO SS symbols and that is not a Julleuchter.

      But it a nice teller

      Best regards,

      Rene

              no ,
to the backside is only the marking from Meissner Porcelan .
              it is not Alach .

I don't see any indication that it is specifically SS. However, according to my recent reading of The SS Famiy, any nice (and preferably Germanic) plate could be used as a Julteller in ceremonies by members of the SS man's family. I have a wooden plate that was used as such that was certainly not an official SS item. So who knows.

In any case, I think you have a very nice plate, regardless. Jul holiday material is a focus of mine, and I'd be very pleased to have such a thing.

The life rune on the candlestick, greenery, and the depiction of the aryan family evokes the SS lore, IMHO. Nice family traditions plate.

                    It is very nice,
I have seen this type before.

Cant see any way to tie it to SS from manufacturing side. But as all else said, it would have been more than acceptable to be used by SS.

The responsible designer for the Julplates at Meissen was Richard Hajesch and I guess this one was his work as well.
Other ones have shown up for example at Hermann Historica within the last years - definitely we can see a family candleholder with the Lebensrune, obviously a typical home-made piece like many SS-items look being made within each different SS-Standarte or Abschnitt, not official for the whole SS but nonetheless official for each Standarte or Abschnitt.

Since the child is there I assume that the candleholder could be his birthday candleholder - used at Jultide as well as on his birthday - remember that the Julleuchter was also in use for wedding ceremonies and other family festivities.

I have one of these wooden birthday candleholders as well and it bears carved signs of the zodiac and was made in 1944 - most of these items are either still undiscovered or - because of this circumstance - landed already in the trash-can.

My personal favorite Jultellers are the white Himmler presentation Allach ones.
