VA Stamps in SS cloth headgear

As an addition to my previous thread regarding early SS metal cap insignia, does anyone know if the "SS-VA/date" ink-stamp is an authentic item? I know that you will see in Allg-SS issue tunics an SS stamp but it is usually only the "VA/date" in white ink.

A collector I know and respect highly has told me that the "SS-VA" stamp never existed. Can anyone verify this?

I'm not an expert re SS items, but the few Allgemeine SS tunics and other pieces I've had did have the VA-date stamp (no SS).

      Hi Darryl!

Great Topic. I have never seen a SS-VA/date stamp on a
      "for sure" original piece.

        Darryl,

Here's my two penny worth I have 2 VA stamped and dated items one is the SS VT overseas cap this has a faint white ink stamp VA 1938. As far as I am concerned the cap is 100% in the earth grey cloth with black lining it has also at one time had a cloth label that has been removed. It is also without insignia you can clearly see where the cap eagle on the side flap was removed.

The other item is a Belt impressed into the leather is 'VA-SS 1937'

        Cheers

        Mark
