    Germanic SS Raute

Hey guys, I have for review a Germanic SS raute that's in a friends collection. I don't doubt that it's real, but I would like some thoughts on the paper backing. I've only ever seen them with the muslin/canvas backing common to collar tabs. Any ideas when and where it was made?

BTW....this was a vet bring back, hence the pips on it.

    Hi Horrido.

I like this Germanic SS raute.
I think this one is made localy in Denmark as they also made them in Norway.
I have posted one norwegian made Germanic SS raute with the long runes. The RZM german made have smaller runes.
I have never seen them in Norway with this type of paper backing, but that do not bodder me. I have seen some norwegian made with pink cardbord backing !

    Regards

    Derek

If real what would the 2 pips indicate?

I cannot judge authenticity but in the original post the seller states it was a vet bringback, so the pips were probably added by the vet .

Hi nice Germanic insignia, they were also made in Belgium and all foreign made Germanic shields seem to have the large size Runes. The Runes on the German made ones are smaller in size.
