Uscha, Do you happen to know the standard size in Centimeters for the SS edition of Mein Kampf? Was there a special format issued specifically to the SS? I have seen period printed editions of MK in different sizes.

    Best Regards, B.A.Vierling

That is what I meant as the standard box, as at one time it was the only version I ever heard about , and I suspect most collectors also only knew about.

"Standard" is used by me with a bit of amusement at my own use of words, as they represent such an interesting and non-standard set of historical facts....not to mention they are rare.

Long time since saying hello to you, Besslein,
just wanted to let you know I have been given the answer to your original question.
WAF member Helbe just pointed out in this thread that the name and dates of the soldier have now been added to the volksbund site!

I am very pleased with this turn of events.
Since I acquired this Heldentruhe 'Sippen' box way before there was any documentation on the volksbund or really anywhere else (except for his nsdap number) about this soldier.
                        It took a few years.
(the items in the Truhe are just for show and did not come with the box)

                            Thanks Andreas,
as you told me that long ago you were also wondering about this item I appreciate your continued interest.
I put a lot of effort into researching this box, but it was WAF member Helbe who finally helped me out.

In this world it is rare when things actually turn out for the good...or as you say "perfect."
