I hope it ends up for sale on the web and a fellow collector sees it and then lets me know... I would say the only chance to catch the theif, or sale broker, is if it advertised for sale on the web or locally. It also does not matter if postal insurance pays for it's loss it is still stolen property!

Recently this past May, an SS Officer's degen and a SS Chain Dagger were stolen from Fed-Ex/Kinkos. The ticket on this sale was for 13K. The stolen pieces were offered to me at the end of June, consequently the owner got his items back and the thief charged. JR

world colectors comunity beacome smaler on the behafe of such forums as WAF and rear items can be very fast discoverd, but then again SS skull is not that special that coud be so eazy recognize ( i know it meant greath deal to you dhunter 93 ) as SS sword and SS chain dagger !
I am almoust sure that if it was stollen from post, teaf knows what he was looking for, becourse SS skull is of no interest for ordinary thifs !

I can only hope that it turns up, somewhere misrouted.

Postal thieves normally are looking for fast turn itmes like jewelry that are easy to sell. Most of the stolen articles, that are not easy top sell just end up in the garbage.

Let us all hope for the safe return of the skull.

Wow! Now THAT is a "happy ending" to a rather disastrous situation. Not the typical outcome, so consider yourself very, very lucky.

Glad to hear everything worked out for you, JR.

                          Hello Mr Dhunter,
I of course wish you get the piece back safely. But could you tell what the post office says happened? I mean, did it disapear from their paper trail custody(so to speak) inside their airport hub, or as it was being loaded on a plane, etc.
As one who has had totally insured items vanish, I am interested. It has always been blamed on "Euro Mail Pirates" who I was told have to be affiliated with postal organizations and probably work in groups.
                          best luck,
                          Michael

I just hope it appears for sale one day ..... It appears that the bigger the box the less of a theft risk the item becomes...

The post office will tell you nothing at all, this item was stolen in the US by a home grown ahole!
