    Thuringen Cuff Title

    Hello,

This cuff title was part of a group of mostly German WWII items that we happened on at a yard sale a short time ago. Please let us know what you think. Hope the photos are adequate. There appears to have been some sort of backing over the reverse of the stitching - you may be able to see some of what looks like adhesive residue on either side of this stitching.

    Thanks much,
    Lynn

Beautiful original cuff title! The protective clothing on the reverse is missing but thats not a problem. That often happened. Not so common to see an F tag on a band like that though!

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Thanks to you, Felix and Bob, for the quick responses. Both my husband and I thought that this cuff title is so nice that it must be fake !

What is the significance of two RZM tags? (Not that either of us know anything about RZM tags in the least.) I've seen items of all kinds with one tag and wonder if the presence of two is unusual.

Hello summers' dogs....who let the dogs out?

One represents the maker of the black cloth strip...(B tag) and the other represents the company that did the hand embroidery (F tag) and from what I understand it was a way for the RZM system to collect tax and at the same time approve the quality of these pieces.

          Kindest Regards,

          John

The bigger question is, with 6 dogs, just who the heck let them IN ?!

Thanks, John, for the helpful information on the RZM tags.
