        It is a poorly cast copy of an original Deschler.

        The weird pin makes me believe this one was not made with the intention of trying to fool anyone. It was likely made for display or reenactment. I guess it could also (theoretically) be a locally produced copy which was period-made, perhaps as a temporary replacement or to outfit foreign volunteers who were lacking in adequate supply of insignia. However, if that were the case (which is doubtful) there would be no way to prove it was original without real provenance.

                      Wow,

                      That skull posted by Tony S could be used used in denture commercials. They could use one of the TK tabs thats missing teeth as the before picture.
