I'll comment. The 'matchbox' does not look, in my opinion, original to the salver, that is, a bad marriage of both. The salver appears original. Curious engraving, particularly the angular almost runic, 'E.O', do you have further information on the source of this object i.e. where did you get it from?

                Any bottom markings?

Sometimes the silver content and makers marks are on the bottom. Maybe someone could recognize them if there are any.

Its a Good marriage, got it of a local jeweller it was brought in for scrap, no makers marks, my only thought as with all potential ss items that are made to decieve is make something that is identifiable, any thoughts on the runes or date?

                        runic letters

As one with a keen eye towards the use of runes, I have to say, that this was done on purpose whether it is original or a fake.

If original ; (a)it would show either agreement wholeheartedly with the Gottglaubig SS pagan / and appreciation for all things ancient germanic; like runes. (b) was merely sympathetic to the above ideas.

If Fake: it was done purposely to further fool a prospective buyer in beleving it to be real by the fact of runic letters being applied to personalize it.

                        Just my thoughts,
                        Michael

If anyone is interested in this for trade, happy to let them have it on approval, has any one any idea on the date?
