    SS Officers Tunic

    Hello,
I'm not into uniforms but I'm not getting a good feeling about this.
Maybe the sleeve eagles good and the back of the buttons look promising. Have many doubts about the rest...thanks for any help

Concur... all insignia is bad. I also noticed the cuffband is sewn through the sleeve lining. These were usually (not always) put on the top edge of the French cuff, probably to avoid sewing through the sleeve like that. The tunic might be salvagable to restore but you'd have to really look hard to distinguish whether or not it was REALLY a Waffen-SS officer tunic -- more than likely an Army officer. After a second look at the tunic, it might not be good either... some characteristics I don't like about it.

I really don't think the tunic is good. It looks like it was originally an "open collar" tunic. The top two buttons are more widely spaced than the lower four. The top buttonhole also looks very poorly hand sewn.

Looks to be a West German Polizei tunic, these were plentiful here in the UK in the late 70's, many with fake Heer or SS insignia added .
