Ian says post #8 is actually a proper shield? Look at his site and the top one shows. It looks like a sloppy version.

      - I also like this "sloppy" version. A lot of those prited shields had misprints in them, the more complex was the pattern the more misprints were made.

True not properly alligned printing does not mean its bad but I don't like it still... look at the color green in comparison with the other one! different shade... why? Stick with BeVo ones is my advise (and safest bet!) Nick

There is a very nice photo of the arm patch in use in the book: "Bages & Insignia of the Third Reich / 1933-1945" by Brian Leigh Davis. It is on Page 185.

The Indians were formed into a Legion which had the designation Infantrie Regiment 950.

              - I would not make a bid deal from changes in color. With printed shields it does vary, as when new paint is applies on the roll, the colors would be more intense from the start and likewise more bleak towards the end.

P.S. I actually don't like the the printed shield in Angola book. It looks way too sloppy.

That's true Askold. Good point. These printed sleeve badges are a mine field... Stick with the BeVo ones is my suggestion, if you want to play it safe! I've never really seen examples of printed shields being worn by freiwilligen in period pictures... Anybody? Nick

I have seen a picture in this forum of a spanish blue division soldier with the printed version of the shiled and there are few originals out there. All I can say is that they are really crude in workmnship material and quality!!

There used to be a discussion on this subject. I've see FOUR photos where a printed shield is being worn

There is a lot on eBay with 20 photos with a few of them having sleeve shields. It's fairly cheap at the moment, but it'll skyrocket towards closing time.

That's almost $41 per picture!!! Driving these prices up like that is no fun! but I guess the person with the deepest pockets has the right to win! and this bidder has very deep pockets! He always scores (but having to spend big money to succeed!) Sorry to hear Mansal that you got outbid! Nick
