Many of these were found, in corroded condition, along with thousands of pieces of metal insigniae, when the Reichszeugmeisterie building had a renovation and addition added, in the 1970s. The insignia was apparantly used as fill, for the Third Reich era expansion. I recall friends telling me that the construction workers were selling corroded insignia by the buckets full, at the site.
