    SS Brown piped EM shoulderboards

    Hello guys!

I have done a search on SS shoulder boards here on the forum, but I feel it is difficult to get orientated in this very difficult field of collecting. It would be interesting to hear what you think about these?

    Thank you in advance

They look orange, not brown. These would be for recruiting, feldgendarmerie and technical troops.

I have seen this pair of shoulderboards in Peter's shop. They are definatly brown and original IMO.

Brown or not brown is hard to say! But they are not any shoulder straps I would buy!

                Hello guys!

Thank you for your help and comments It is interesting to notice though that one who saw them in real life believes they are original. We all agree that in-hand inspection is the best way to find out. These pictures are the only ones I have to post, and it might be difficult to distinguish details?

I usually have to defer to the experts on these WSS straps, but on occasion I'll see some that jump out and scream ORIGINAL, but these are few a far between.

Have a look at the Fakes section here in the SS cloth forum. I've had a couple of pair that I thought were good until I started using this resource. Whenever I see a mint pair that have certain traits, I get skeptical.

Start at the top of this page and work your way down ... I think you'll see the cousins of this pair.

And just for the record ... EM/NCOs are shoulder straps and Officer grades are shoulder boards. The straps are soft and the boards are riggid.
