    panzer boards

    hello

I like to know if these shoulder boards are original? They look good to me, although maybe the tresse is not original to the boards.

But I also got some doubts if I see that they look some like the boards in thread:

    Thanks in advance

I could entertain doubts; Excellent reproductions IMHO.

I'm afraid Mr Singer is right. I had an identical pair and came to the same conclusion. Starting to see more of these unfortunately. They are very well done...

Apparently, the fakers have wised up to that sign of authenticity, the use of scrap material in the assembly of boards. But on this pair, the use of "scrap" almost seems contrived, like they are mirrors of each other.

Fake epaulettes have got very very good in the past few years, to the point where it is sometimes nearly impossible to tell from photos. Where will it all end?

Sadly, it will never end as there is too much money and high demand involved. This will be more and more of a problem as the fakers develop their skills.
In anticipation of those gloomy days of the future, I have been documenting provenance on every piece I purchase or own, including emails, the sale ads, etc. This documentation will assist me in establishing that the stuff I buy now can be distinguished from the uber-fakes that no doubt are coming now and in the future.
