The eagle looks like a nice original eagle to me, and it looks like it is the type in the picture above. What cypher is on the strap?

I think the straps are with D for Deutschland regiment

Thanks Gary for photo,but your eagle have three claw on arm,my only two and beak another.This detail it is not important?
Maybe you have other pic as my eagle?

Hello Sergey,

Below is an example that I already posted for discussion several months ago. As I obtained no comment, I made some research and managed to find an identical eagle pictured in ‘The Military Advisor’ of summer 1990 ? It was described as being an ‘early war pattern’. The embroidery is made of silky thread.

Your and my example appear similar in general construction but there are several differences in the embroidery. Could your example possibly also be an early type ? I can’t answer that and hope that more experienced collectors in this ‘minefield’ will share their knowledge.

Note the presence of a fine gauze on the reverse, like on your example.

Yes our eagles very similar,but arms deffirent.Are you sure that your eagle not fake?
