    Question About Unidentified Ss Pin

I bought this pin back in the 1970s and I am curious to know what it is for. It has the following information on the back in raised characters: 225,831 and GES. GESCH along with the RZM stamp. I was told that it was a pin given for financial contributions to the SS. I am considering selling it and want to know an approximate value. Thanks, Ausgang

Your explanation match what it is.
About the value I would say between 300 and 450 USD.
But I can't tell if it's a good one...Seemts that those have been fake since the 50's.

Search on this forum with "ss stickpins", I think you'll find some answers.

          Hi Ausgang

I am afraid that your FM Honour pin is a fake. The original pins never had an RZM mark and the numbers were stamped rather than raised and the one shown lacks the detail on the front.

I think these fakes were made in either Belgium or England in the 1980's.

            Fake Out

I bought that in the 70s at a swap meet. Once again, the weird thing about fakes is that they show up in contexts that seem to make it impossible for them to be fake. Why would some old grizzly dude selling rusty beer cans have a fake SS pin in a box of keys? Well, the level of quality of my pin is def lower than the other one pictured so I guess I'll have to accept the decsision of you pros out there. Thanks for your help. What bugs me is that I've kept that in a safe for years!

              Weird things happen in life.
I have as well one SS stickpin that was found in a attic, with other brinback items (ausweiss, buckles, bayonet, several iron cross, red cross insignia,....) everything was textbook and I paid about 15 Euros for everything (more than 10 years ago) and it appeared to specialist that the SS pin wasn't correct. Weird but as people will buy an item and not a story the SS pin will stay with me for life I believe.
