Here are some shoulderboard pips and collar tab tress that I have picked up over the years and have always wondered about. The tress came in a big Estand lot of misc. items a few years ago, and the pips came on a very salty set of real Heer arty Hauptman boards off eBay.
The pips are aluminum with flat brass pins. They measure 21mm from point-to-point, and are 6.25 mm tall.
The collar tab bits don't glow under blacklight. The tress measures 6mm wide and shows wear to the thread on the frontside, while the piping measures 2mm in diameter and has 3 "strands".
The brass device I believe is a Kriegsmarine minelaying shoulder board device.
Real wartime or postwar?
Thanks in advance!
John
