    Collar Tab Quiz

The Following Two Unit Collar Tabs Were Part Of A Uniform Insignia Grouping Veteran Purchased Many Years Ago. All Of The Insignia Is Original And Came, Most Likely, From The Tunic And Mantel Of A Sturmbannfuhrer. The Insignia Conisits Of:

2 Unit Collar Tabs With The Rzm "a" Tags
    1 Rank Tab For Sturmbannfuhrer
    2 Sleeve Eagles
2 Shoulder Boards For A Sturmbannfuhrer
    1 Cufftitle
    2 Proficiency Diamonds

My Question Is, Tell Me What The Enclosed Unit Collar Tabs Are. I Am Only Showing The Rear To Make This Interesting. I Will Post The Entire Insignia Grouping Wendesday Evening Or Earlier, If Someone Get This Correct.

Hmmm...which units of the SS wore collar tabs with metal insignia? It appears that each tab has at least two separate emblems...

I am going with NSKK. The SS RZM tags technically don't make sense, but they have turned up before on NSKK cufftitles. All of the other clues would fit as well.

                ,,

I agree with Jerry - but the name of the jpg attachement (if you look at the posting without signing in) kind of gives it away!!

Nice idea to put stuff up and test peoples knowledge though - can we have some more?

Mr. Jerry gets one big atta boy.
The test was a little misleading. However, I found this anomoly to be very interesting. The insignia if from NSKK Motor Standarte 30, stationed in Berlin. The unit was awarded the Honor Name Ernst Van Rath, a member of this unit who as Third Secretary of the German Embassy in Paris was assasinated by a young Polish Jew on November 7th, 1938.
I have never seen a RZM tag with a NSKK designation. The driver diamonds always carry the style found on SA insignia. As the majority of NSKK collar tabs received later added metal cyphers and or numbers, it seems likely that it would not be unusual for an insignia shop to use blank sets of tabs with the SS RZM label.

                    an "atta boy"???
I thought I was going to WIN the stuff

Seriously though, That is a very cool grouping, you don't see many honor titles.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
