SS Mountain troop badge?

I've had almost forgotten that I have this badge:

A Gebirgsjäger collector suggested that it might be a WSS item.
Is that so?

Its correct that the black edelweiss is for SS.

However Im not confident with the version you posten and Im pretty sure its a repro.
