In Werner's pic it looks like he also has on pea-dot trousers and is giving up his G43.

I've seen so much pea-dot worn by Heer, and even RAD troops, in Elbe pics, he could possibly still be a Heer soldat as well.

I had the same impression regarding the pants.
The soldier seems to wear a sidecap and the cut looks to be SS.

The middle soldiers wears as well ss camo pants but can't say if they are dot pattern or oak pattern.

What should the hood draw string be made of. My one is like the draw string on the camo smock , it has very small green glass buttons at the end of the string to stop it going into the hood . Their is always damage around the area is this because the string cord was to fine and cuts into the material?? Regards Paul.

Exactly. The same green rayon as on smocks
