SS troops war flag ?

Hello,

Anybody familiar with Kurt Meyer's last battle , will have heard of the SHERBROOKE FUSILIERS .
The regiment still exist today and they have this large " captured" flag that they keep folded in a display case.
Three years ago when I visited , they took it out for me to take a photograph, it is quite large , about 7 feet high ( they could hardly pin it on the wall ).

This is a TR Govt. flag -- has nothing to do with the SS.

I could not find many examples like it in my reference books.
This is a photo taken from a LAH history book , it is about the same size .
Is this type of flag only related to the SS troops ?

Well, you never know what the lads will be carrying do you?
Could have been all they had available when it was taken..

I have seen ground troops with harbour pilot flags that they captured from infantry..anything is possible..
