I can safely say the helmet is a fake.
The mannequin does look sharp the way its grasping the rifle.
As for the other items I can't comment without better photos.

Ever hear of the Blue Man Group?

The helmet came from a surplus in Kingston, the only one I know of is Bud Field's Angus Surplus and I've seen some of his stuff, some is good some isn't. As for the mannequins on display, many are kitted with repro (thinking of an FJ display they have where you can actually touch it) but the stuff behind the barriers I don't see why they wouldn't take out the 'fine China' for them.

Museums.... This thread shows what they are really about, and thats why I made damned sure during my recent exhumation in France that I kept the things found with the bodies that were not required for identification.
A guy from the town hall, who is also curator of the local and infamous museum still managed to greedily take some things. I have known him and his museum for years, with all the roberies, exchanges and disapearences that have gone on for years, and didnt want any of these precious historical artifacts falling into his hands. He managed to get away with a watch, a belt and a helmet, that are now in the museums "reserve", invisible to the public, untill further notice.

Alot of the tunics people attribute to European collections, actually originated from this museum, and i have seen them pointed out to me on various dealer sites over the years...

As an example, they no longer have Kurt Myers tunic..it is long gone, just "missing in action, in someones collection, and they probably have no idea whose it is..it was just another old tunic back then..some of the best 12th SS items ..all gone..all back doored..it's a shame..
I friends father who started me off collecting in the late 1980's had purchased a 12th SS Hitlerjugend black Panzer overseas cap from a certain collector in California in 1982. The cap was sourced directly from the Canadian War Museum. When he passed in 2003, I was able to purchase the cap, along with correspondence from the former curator who sold the item from his son. Whats interesting is that the Canadian Museum is not the least bit interested in reaquiring items that were sold from thier collection. I offered the hat to the curator in 2004 for what I paid, and they declined. The cap is great, very much in keeping with the non-regulation standard the 12th SS is known for. Tropical bevo skull, with metal eagle. Very unusual, and interesting to say the least.

No doubt about it. The runes have the full offset unlike any originals.
