It bothers me that the stamps and all the writing is in the same ink, also (and I could be wrong) I heard that predominant color for German wartime ink was blue.

I believe some Volkssturm units were actually subordinated to the Handschar Division in April 1945. I don't believe it was the other way around.

But that is too weird of a photo.

A little late the the party here, but I have to agree with the others... this one just doesn't look right! Thanks for the info on the stamp, RD_Rygaard. Good info to document in the "archives" for future reference.

[QUOTE=John T;1782442]I think the picture may be humped up....why is a handschar guy wearing a Russian Front ribbon? German Officer Cadre I could see...but the low rank?

And why does it look like the guy that took the picture of the guy was sitting down and the guy was standing up, and the long hair style....I am not saying for sure the picture is modern, but I would have some doubts....[/QUOTE

Totally agree! I've noticed as well the russian front ribbon and the way the picture was taken...Total fantaisy.

Something is bothering me on this pass since I first seen the foto. Iam 90% sure I have seen this foto used in another spoof document.
