    Handschar ? Soldbuch

Hello I traded for this soldbuch, because of the picture. It looks to have been issued a few month before the end of the war and doesn't have very many entries. It's a volksstrum soldbbuch but the photo is of a member of the Handschar division. Would wounded members of Handschar be put into the Volkstrum? If a man lost his soldbuch would they have just used what they had? Is the book even original? Thanks for any info. KIrby

            Hi
I don't belive in this one either.
1st, if he was a foregin volunteer, he shouldn't have a "Wehrnummer".
2nd, why should he mentioned "Feldwebel" and not "Hauptscharführer" ?

Sorry but IMO a really bad one

I am afraid that the Soldbuch is definitely, 100 percent certainly not original. "Korporal?" There should not be a date before the rank at the top of the page, the blood group entry should be a single letter, the gas mask size must be 1, 2, or 3 and not 57, the Wehrnummer is the wrong format... I could go on, that is just the first page!

Hello Thanks for the info. I don't usually pickup paper items so I guess this goes back. Kirby

I know nearly nothing about papers but did you have a look at the picture? The SS jacket looks weird: you only see a part of the torso and you already have 4 buttons
The guy doesn't look period as well, more like a latvian 70's nostalgic....Due to the jacket hard to believe is a period pic.

Aren't the 2 stamps on the photo suppose to be the same? I don't like it.

I think the picture may be humped up....why is a handschar guy wearing a Russian Front ribbon? German Officer Cadre I could see...but the low rank?

And why does it look like the guy that took the picture of the guy was sitting down and the guy was standing up, and the long hair style....I am not saying for sure the picture is modern, but I would have some doubts....
