    Fake insignia???

Thought I would share these with the forum. I have had these pieces in my collection for about 15+ years. Recently they were ID'd as fakes.

Just thought I would share the scans with others so you might learn from my mistake. I have always believed that shared knowledge among fellow collectors can only help us as a whole.

Hopefully this is the appropriate section for this thread.

    SS Fakes #2

Here is the TK badge. This also has an RZM on the top reverse portion of the skull. But it is a single circle with the initials.

And finally a trapazoid hat patch. This one even appears to have been "worn and removed". I guess adding to the old advice "don't believe your lying eyes"

This one actually passes the blacklight test.

SS Uniforms might be a better forum and thanks for the shots.

Hi Andrew, thank you for sharing these fakes with us. Hope you did not loose too much money on them.

Ideally these ought to be shown in the SS forum. Gary Wood, who moderates that section has a pinned thread of nothing but fakes. If you draw his attention to this thread I am sure he would like to add the pics to it for future easy reference.

          Cheers, Ade.

Do a search on the word blacklight and you will find many threads which explain it

              Cheers, Ade.

Basically if you shine a UV light on it and it glows it is most likely a fake.

There are a number of threads on the differnt forums.

                  Thanks

I appreciate the help. Still trying to get the layout of the land here. I'll get in touch with Gary and advise him of the link to this thread.

Hope it helps others from getting bitten.
